Queen biopic "Bohemian Rhapsody" scores two Golden Globe nominations

20th Century FoxBohemian Rhapsody, the new film that tells the story of Queen and its frontman Freddie Mercury's path to rock stardom, has been nominated for two honors at the 76th annual Golden Globe Awards. The movie is in the running for the Best Motion Picture -- Drama award, while Rami Malek, who portrayed Mercury, is nominated for the Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture -- Drama prize.

The other films vying for the Best Motion Picture -- Drama award are Black Panther, BlacKkKlansman, If Beale Street Could Talk and A Star Is Born. Malek will compete for his award with Bradley Cooper for his work in A Star Is Born, Willem DaFoe for At Eternity's Gate, Lucas Hedges for Boy Erased, and John David Washington for BlackKklansman.

Other music-related Golden Globe nominees include Annie Lennox and Dolly Parton, who are both up for the Best Original Song -- Motion Picture award. Lennox was nominated for "Requiem for a Private War," which she wrote for A Private War. Parton has been recognized for "Girl in the Movies," which she co-wrote with songwriter/producer Linda Perry, for Dumplin'.
