Demi Lovato teases collaboration with "one of my biggest idols"

ABC/Paula LoboLovatics are thrilled that Demi Lovato is gearing up to hit the road February 26 on her Tell Me You Love Me Tour.  But the singer tells Billboard she's got something even more special in store for fans.

“I did a collaboration with one of my biggest idols," dishes Demi. "I can’t give away who it is yet, but you’ll find out soon. I can’t wait for the world to hear it. It’s an incredible song.”

Demi's idols are many, so it's hard to predict who she might be singing with.  Kelly Clarkson? Christina Aguilera? Mariah Carey?  Aretha Franklin John Mayer?  They're all artists Demi has cited as major influences on her style.

And speaking of John, Demi also tells Billboard that the Grammy-winning singer/songwriter gave her some advice that changed her life.

"When I was 15 or 16, I wrote a couple of songs with [him]," Demi says of John. "And he wrote me a letter and it said, ‘Follow your instincts. You have really good instincts.’ Ever since then, I’ve just followed my gut, and it’s really helped me."

As for the upcoming tour, Demi tells Billboard, "I’m going to utilize the arenas and really make sure that from every seat, you get to see my performance up-close and personal, as much as we possibly can. I don’t want to give too much away, but I’ll definitely be more up-close and personal with the audience than I have been before.”

Demi also says the tour's production will "represent who I am as a person and an artist and I can’t wait for this country to see it."
