Kandi Burruss: "People get so used to seeing me on "Housewives," they don't really know my background"

DeWayne Rogers/Monami EntertainmentKandi Burruss is not only a member of R&B group Xscape, but also an accomplished songwriter who's written songs for the likes of TLC, UsherFaith Evans, Boyz II Men, Alicia KeysFantasia and 3LW

She tells ABC Radio that people are surprised by her career as a songwriter because they just think of her as a reality show star.

"People get so used to seeing me on [RealHousewives [of Atlanta] they don't really know my background," she explains. "I've worked with everybody from PinkWhitney HoustonMariah CareyDestiny's Child'NSYNC, you know, just a lot of different artists."

"I've had the opportunity to work with a lot of people and it's been amazing and I would love to continue to write for other people as well," she adds. 

"That's something that I just enjoy doing." 

So who's on Kandi's wish list of artists to work with? 

"I really love Teyana Taylor," she reveals. "I love what she's done as far as branding herself and I think she's a household name."

Kandi adds, "But I would love to work [on] music with her because she can really sing. And I would love to have an opportunity to go in the studio with her."
