Michael Buble recording new "themed" album for late 2018, says manager

Evaan KherajAfter stepping away from the business while his son Noah battled cancer, Michael Buble is now slowly returning to the spotlight.  He'll host the Juno Awards on March 25, appear at a charity event in April, and has booked two big U.K. shows for the summer.  But even more exciting is the news that Michael is more than halfway done with a new record.

Michael's manager, Bruce Allen, tells the Vancouver Sun, "I can’t tell you that much about it because they’re recording a bunch of songs. But it’s going to be a themed album, like the Christmas album.”

No word on the theme, but Allen estimates the disc, which Michael is working on with producer David Foster, is about 60% done.  He hopes it will be out by the end of the year, and then Michael will follow it with a world tour in 2019.

Michael's last tour ended in 2015. He had planned to do one in support of his 2016 album Nobody But Me, but when Noah was diagnosed, it was canceled.

"The album was out five days when his son got diagnosed, and that was the end of it,” says Allen. “He did the right thing, he put his family first.”

On April 28, Michael will perform at the annual Power of Love Gala in Las Vegas, staged annually by Keep Memory Alive, a charity that supports the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health.  He'll also perform in Dublin on July 7 and in London on July 13.

On top of all that, Michael and his wife Luisana Lopilato are currently expecting their third child.
