James Bay turning on "Electric Light" on May 18

Republic RecordsJames Bay has announced details of his long-awaited sophomore album.  Titled Electric Light, the disc will arrive May 18.

Explaining the title, James said in a statement, "If I had to describe my first album visually it would probably be a flame -- while this new album is about a real sonic and artistic evolution for me. The feeling of a 100 watt bulb expanding and brightening is what I envisioned. Electric Light came to my mind and I knew it was perfect.”

The album's available for pre-order now, and fans who do will get an instant download of the first single, "Wild Love," and another track, the hard-rocking "Pink Lemonade."  James will perform both songs this weekend on Saturday Night Live.

James has also announced a bunch of new tour dates, kicking off September 13 in Atlanta, Georgia.  Right now, the trek is scheduled to wrap up October 15 in Portland, Oregon. Fan pre-sales for the new shows start Wednesday, March 14, at 10 a.m. local time. The general on-sale  stars Friday, March 16, at 10 a.m. local time.

You can get access to pre-sale tickets if you buy anything from James' online store, and every pair of online tickets comes with a copy of Electric Light.  Among the items for sale in the store is a new line of merch designed by James himself, including a ball cap that reads "Bay is Bae."
