Slipknot's Sid Wilson announces new solo album

Astrid Stawiarz/Getty Images for Rock for Recovery Slipknot DJ Sid Wilson has announced a new solo album under hip-hop moniker SID. The album's title is a combination of numbers, letter and symbols that translates to Sexcapades of the Hopeless Robotic. It'll arrive on August 17.

The album is described as, "a metaphoric creative representation of the heart and mind inside a body of work known as the artist 'SID.'" For a preview of what that sounds like, you can download the single "The Cure" now via digital outlets.

Wilson previously released two SID albums in 2011.

Meanwhile, Slipknot has been working on a new album, the follow-up to 2014's .5: The Gray Chapter. The masked metallers are aiming to release the record in 2019.
