Vampire Weekend planning to release double album; new music dropping next week

Burak Cingi/RedfernsVampire Weekend hasn't released a new album since 2013's Modern Vampires of the City, but that's about to change.

In an Instagram post, frontman Ezra Koenig announces that the band is planning to release an 18-song double album. He wouldn't reveal the full title of the record, but did say it has the initials "FOTB."

The exact release date of the album has yet to be revealed, but Koenig says VW will be releasing "three two-song drops every month until the record is out," suggesting that it will arrive sometime in April or May. By the way, the first drop will happen next week, so be on the lookout for that.

You can also catch Vampire Weekend live this year at the Hangout and Firefly festivals.
