Smokey Robinson to pay tribute to Aretha Franklin at star-studded tribute concert this Sunday

ABC/Image Group LASmokey Robinson has been added to the lineup of the all-star Aretha Franklin tribute concert, taking place this Sunday at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

The event, dubbed Aretha! A Grammy Celebration for the Queen of Soul, will be taped for a two-hour CBS special that will air March 10 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Robinson, a childhood friend of Franklin's, will be on hand to deliver a special homage to the late soul legend.

The show also will feature performances by a wide array of music stars, including Patti LaBelle, Kelly Clarkson, Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson, Alicia Keys, John Legend, Alessia Cara, Janelle Monáe and rapper Common.

Gospel artists Yolanda Adams, Bebe Winans and Shirley Caesar are also on the bill.

According to a CBS executive, the special will celebrate Aretha not only as a singer and songwriter, but also as a pianist, actress and civil-rights activist.
