Michael Bolton wants to make a musical based on his life with "a lot of laughs and depth"

Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagicMichael Bolton might be the next big music star heading to Broadway.

The singer, who released A Symphony of Hits on Friday, tells Billboard he has dreams of bringing his life story to the Great White Way.

“I am thinking about and touching base with people about a musical,” he says. “It would be funny, kind of my story. I want there to be a lot of laughs and depth and to convey [my relationship] with my daughters.”

He adds, “There would definitely be some new songs. There’s a source of motivation for writing a new body of work.”

But first, he’ll be touring his latest album, which reimagines some of his biggest hits with a 65-piece orchestra. Michael released the album in celebration of his 50 years in the business.

The symphonic tour kicked off Friday and wraps March 4 in London.
