The O'Jays release new single, "I Got You," to be included in group's upcoming final studio album

S-Curve Records/BMGThe O'Jays have just released a brand-new single titled "I Got You" that will be featured on the Philadelphia soul legends' final studio album, The Last Word, due out April 19.

"I Got You" is available for purchase now digitally and via streaming services, and you also can check out the song at The O'Jays' official YouTube channel. In addition, those pre-ordering The Last Word will receive a free instant download of the track.

The new tune offers a positive message of hope and solidarity at a divisive time. As the group sings, "Even if the sky begins to fall and even if they try to build that wall, even if the bombs go off and the world is set on fire, I got your back."

"It's an extraordinary statement," says co-founding member Walter Williams Sr. "It's exactly what one would want to hear -- it goes a long way."

The track was co-produced by soul veteran Betty Wright, who scored a top 10 hit in 1972 with "Clean Up Woman."

The O'Jays were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2005. The group's current lineup features two original members -- Williams and Eddie Levert Sr. -- as well as Eric Nolan Grant, who joined the fold in 1995.

Here's the full track list for The Last Word:

"I Got You"
"Stand Up"
"Enjoy Yourself"
"Do You Really Know How I Feel"
"Above the Law"
"'68 Summer Nights"
"Start Stoppin'"
