Metallica's WorldWired tour passes $150 million

The metal legends' WorldWired tour, in support of the 2016 album Self-Destruct, has now grossed over $150 million, Billboard reports.

The international trek, which first launched in 2016, has sold close to 1.6 million tickets.

In total, Metallica has grossed more than $600 million from touring since Billboard's Boxscore chart archives began in 1990.

Metallica's WorldWired tour will continue February 28 in El Paso, Texas.
