Aaron Lewis teases possible Staind comeback

Scott Legato/Getty ImagesCould Staind be making a comeback next year? Maybe, maybe not, according to frontman Aaron Lewis.

During a solo show in Oklahoma City over the weekend, Lewis asked the crowd, "So what if I told you that Staind is coming back next year?"

In between all the cheering, Lewis added, "I might be lying, but I might not."

"There might even be five shows this year," he said. "I can't say for sure. You never know."

He then launched into an acoustic rendition of the Staind hit "It's Been Awhile."

Aside from a number of one-off shows here and there, Staind has essentially been on hiatus since 2012. They briefly reunited in 2014 for a few festival performances, and again in 2017 for a three-song acoustic set.

Since Staind's hiatus began, Lewis has recorded three solo albums, including the upcoming State I'm In, due out April 12. Meanwhile, guitarist Mike Mushok teamed up with ex-Three Days Grace vocalist Adam Gontier to form the band Saint Asonia.
