Lamb of God "well into the writing process" for next album

ABC/Randy HolmesLamb of God is "well into the writing process" for the band's next album, according to guitarist Mark Morton.

"[We've] not completed writing but we're pretty far along into the writing process," Morton tells Metal Insider. "We've been making demos and what we call pre-production for the new album."

A release date for the new material, however, is still up in the air.

"I don't know if it'll be the end of this year or some time early next year but it's in full swing," Morton says of the album. "There's good progress."

The new album will be the follow-up to 2015's VII: Sturm und Drang. Since then, Lamb of God has released a covers album, Legion: XX, in 2018 under their original band name, Burn the Priest.

Meanwhile, you can listen to Morton's new solo album Anesthetic, which includes the single "Cross Off," featuring vocals from the late Chester Bennington.
