Josh Homme, Beck & more featured on soundtrack to "Echo in the Canyon" documentary

BMGQueens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme and Beck are featured on the upcoming soundtrack to Echo in the Canyon, a new documentary about the influential music scene that developed in Los Angeles' Laurel Canyon in the mid-to-late 1960s.

The soundtrack features covers of songs by artists from the Laurel Canyon scene, such as The Byrds and The Mamas and the Papas. Homme, for example, puts his spin on "She" by The Monkees, while Beck takes on "The Bells of Rhymney," made famous by The Byrds.

Other artists on the album include Fiona Apple, Cat Power, Norah Jones, Regina Spektor and Neil Young.

The Echo in the Canyon soundtrack will be released on May 24. The film premieres in Los Angeles that same day.
