Mathew Knowles has "directly and indirectly spoken" to Destiny Child about his musical based on the group

Johnny Nunez/WireImageMathew Knowles is making sure fans know he has already discussed his upcoming project, Survivor: The Destiny’s Child Musical, with his daughter and other DC members.

"We have directly and indirectly spoken  — [to] not only BeyoncéKelly [Rowland] and Michelle [Williams] or their representatives — but also some of the former members of the group,” Knowles told Page Six. “We’ve given them the opportunity to be as much involved as they’d like, or [have] as little involvement as they’d like.”

The production, which Knowles says is in its early stages, will tell the group's life story through his experience as their manager. It's described as a behind-the-scenes look at "how the greatest girl group of all time was created."

But even though the musical will be told from his viewpoint, Knowles says he doesn’t expect the group members to have any issues once the script is complete.

“Everybody understands this is my perspective, not their perspective,” he said. “The girls were very young when they got into this business, so a lot of this perspective, they didn’t really understand.”

Knowles, who managed the group since its inception in 1990, says once he gets the script together, he will even allow original members to review it.

“I wouldn’t want to put anything out that didn’t have everyone’s support,” he added.

In addition to DC, Knowles say the musical will also focus on how managing the group affected his family, including daughter Solange Knowles and his ex-wife, Tina Lawson.  He says Tina and Solange are both aware of his production and are “excited to see what the script is going to look like."

Along with the musical, Knowles says fans can expect an album as well: DC's first album, which he says "they made back in 1992, 1993," when they were known as Girl's Tyme.
