"Upset" and "disappointed" CHVRCHES condemns Marshmello collaboration with Chris Brown and Tyga

ABC/Randy HolmesCHVRCHES has shared a statement condemning hit-making DJ Marshmello for collaborating with Chris Brown and Tyga on a new song called "Light It Up."

"We are really upset, confused and disappointed by Marshmello's choice to work with Tyga and Chris Brown," the trio writes.

CHVRCHES previously worked with Marshmello on the hit song "Here with Me." The band members write that while they "like and respect Mello as a person," they feel that "working with people who are predators and abusers enables, excuses and ultimately tacitly endorses that behavior."

"That is not something we can or will stand behind," the statement concludes.

Brown was charged with felony assault of his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. He's since faced a number of other legal issues, including assault and battery. Earlier this year, he was arrested in Paris after being accused of rape. He has denied those charges, and is suing his accuser for defamation.

Meanwhile, Tyga came under fire for reportedly dating Kylie Jenner when she was under 18.
