The Marathon Continues: Nipsey Hussle stars in video for DJ Khaled's "Higher"

Epic RecordsNipsey Hussle may be gone, but his musical legacy continues with DJ Khaled's newly-released single and accompanying video "Higher."

Friday, the mega-producer dropped off the Eif Rivera-directed clip, which also features John Legend. The video opens with a tribute to the late Hussle, featuring him draped in blue hues and strolling through the streets of his beloved city of Los Angeles.

The visual was filmed just days before the Victory Lap lyricist's tragic death on March 31, and is said to be his final performance captured on film.

Ahead of the video's release, Khaled shared a heartfelt open letter on Instagram in regards to the passing of his friend and frequent collaborator.

"Recently, I embarked on a soul-searching journey down a road I never thought I would travel in a million years," the message reads. "It began when a tragedy robbed the world of an enlightened soul, a brother, a father, a partner and my friend, Nipsey Hussle."

Khaled also revealed that along with the song's co-writers, producers and label partners, he will be donating 100% of all of the proceeds from “Higher” to Hussle's children, Emani and Kross

The uplifting record appears on Khaled's collab-filled Father of Asahd album, which dropped at midnight. The producer's eleventh studio album boasts appearances from JAY-Z, Nas, Future, Big Sean, Travis Scott, SZA, Cardi B and many more.
