Listen to new Of Monsters and Men song, "Wild Roses"

ABC/Randy HolmesOf Monsters and Men has premiered a new song called "Wild Roses," which will appear on the Icelandic group's upcoming album, Fever Dream.

In a statement, vocalist Nanna Hilmarsdóttir explains that the tune was partly inspired by mythologist Joseph Campbell, known for his concept of "the hero's journey."

"The song shows an introverted side to the album and is influenced by a bit of dance music and Joseph Campbell's The Power of Myth and what it is like to lean into your sadness," she says.

"Wild Roses," which you can download now via digital outlets, is the second track to be released from Fever Dream, following the lead single "Alligator." The whole album arrives July 26.

Of Monsters and Men will embark on a North American tour in support of Fever Dream in September.
