Icona Pop Announce Debut Album Title, Release Date & New Single

Record Company Ten/Big Beat RecordsAfter ruling the airwaves with their super-catchy single "I Love It," the girls of Icona Pop are finally ready to unleash their debut album.

The Swedish duo's disc, This Is....Icona Pop, will be in stores September 24, but if you can't wait for some new music, they've also announced a new single.  It's called "All Night" and it's available now.

If you're wondering if "I Love It" is representative of what the entire album sounds like, the answer is no.  "There will not be 15 tracks that sound like 'I Love It,'" group member Aino tells ABC News Radio.  "But you will hear the journey we've been on the for the past four years."  Her musical partner Caroline adds that through the songs on the album, "Everyone will get to know us.  It's time. We're gonna let everyone into our little Icona Pop world...we're ready now."

What the album will do is reflect the duo's unique blend of pop and electronic sounds, which defies strict categorization.  "We always say that we do pop music," explains Aino. "In the beginning, we called ourselves 'Death Pop.'  But also, we go into the studio...and sometimes we come out with a pop song influenced by hip-hop and sometimes by electronic [music]."

Aino adds, "I would say that, yes, we're a pop duo that do electronical music."

Icona Pop is heading out on a North American tour starting August 2 with an appearance at Lollapalooza.  The trek will mix headlining shows with festival appearances in the U.S. and Canada.

50 Cent's Arraignment on Domestic Violence, Vandalism Charge Postponed

InterscopeAfter being charged with domestic violence and vandalism, 50 Cent’s arraignment has been postponed until next month, according to The Los Angeles Times.

The 37-year-old rapper, whose birth name is Curtis Jackson, was initially scheduled to meet with the judge this week, but his defense attorney has requested the delay to give 50 the opportunity to appear in court.

Jackson is is being accused of kicking the mother of his child and trashing her place, causing thousands of dollars worth of damage.  The alleged incident transpired last month inside her condo in Toluca Lake, CA, where police officers reported observing a broken television, chandeliers and furniture.

The L.A. City Attorney's office says the rapper got into a heated argument with his ex-girlfriend, which led to the unidentified woman hiding in the bedroom.  Jackson allegedly kicked down the door -- injuring his ex's face in the process -- and then left the condo before police arrived.

In a statement released to ABC News earlier this month, Jackson's lawyer, Scott Leemon, declared, "Curtis Jackson denies these allegations as made against him. It is important to note, Mr. Jackson has not been arrested and there is no warrant outstanding for his arrest."

Jackson faces five misdemeanor charges and up to five years in jail if convicted.  He's due back in court on August 5.

Carly Rae Jepsen Recalls Recording Feel-Good Summer Duet...Via Email"Good Time," a collaboration between Carly Rae Jepsen and Adam Young, the artist who records under the name Owl City, was the perfect summer song when it came out last year, and it continues to set the bar high for all feel-good summer tunes.  But Carly reveals that she and Adam didn't have a "good time" recording the duet together in the studio....because they didn't actually meet until weeks after the song was created.

"It was really cool that I got to sing on that track, but we didn't actually meet until the video that we shot together," Carly explains.  "He was interested in having me sing the song; I responded back saying I was into the idea as well."  Not long after that, Carly says, she and her producer cut her part of the song at three in the morning.  Then, through the magic of technology, the duet was created.

"We sent him the files, he produced it that night, and like, literally, a couple weeks later I heard it on the radio," Carly laughs.

When Carly and Adam did meet, on the set of the "Good Time" video, luckily, the two actually got along, avoiding any awkwardness of singing about good times while secretly hating each other.

"We had our first introduction on the day of the shoot and we became fast friends," Carly confirms. "And now I've got to do a couple performances with him here and there, and it turns out that we like each other a lot.  So, that's a bonus!"

It's not clear when Carly and Adam will next be able to perform the song live together.  They're both playing the New York State Fair next month, for example, but on different days.

Beyonce Reacts Via Instagram After Hair Gets Caught in Fan During Performance

Photo Courtesy of Beyonce on Instagram

This time, it wasn't an over-eager fan interrupting Beyonce's stage show.  During a concert in Montreal Monday night, her hair became tangled in a stage fan while she was singing "Halo."

Footage was captured by her Beyhive as the singer's blonde tresses gets sucked into the fan, making it difficult for Beyonce to move her head.  Security guards and stage crew member scramble to free the diva, who managed to continue the song, seemingly undeterred by the real-time crisis.

The singer later poked fun at the situation, posting her own video of the incident and a message to fans via her Instagram page.  "Gravity can't beginnnn to pull me out of the fan again," she writes in a handwritten note. "I felt my hair was yankinnnn from the fan that's always hatinnnnn."

Beyonce playfully makes fun of her virgin Remy weave getting caught, adding, "I got snatched, two snaps. Goodnight all."

New John Mellencamp Art Exhibit to Open this Fall in Youngstown, Ohio

Hear Music/ConcordJohn Mellencamp fans will be able to enjoy examples of one of the singer/songwriter's other artistic passions, painting, at an upcoming exhibition of his work that will go on display this fall.  The exhibit, dubbed "The Paintings of John Mellencamp," will open on November 3 at the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio.

The exhibition will be the 61-year-old heartland rocker's first to be held at a museum devoted exclusively to art.  It will feature about 40 pieces, including some that have never previously been shown in public.

Mellencamp explains in a statement that his painting mainly has been inspired by German Expressionism, "which has stayed and remains the basic foundation for what I do."  He adds that the work of artists such as Max Beckmann and Otto Dix are "the foundation of my influence, same as folk music is the foundation of my songs."

Adds Dr. Louis Zona, the Butler Institute's director and curator of the exhibit, "Mellencamp's very personal works…display a unique understanding of art history, theory and composition.  They are crafted with both skill and spontaneity by a great talent who is truly 'twice blessed' with the creative gene."

The upcoming exhibit, which will run through January 12, 2014, follows Mellencamp's first museum exhibition -- held at the Tennessee State Museum in Nashville in spring of 2012.  The Butler Institute of American Art is open from Tuesday through Sunday.  Its hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. on Sundays.

The Wanted's New Album Coming Sept. 16, New Single August 11

Timothy White/E!The Wanted announced on Twitter and Facebook on Monday that their new album, called Word of Mouth, will arrive September 16. "We can't wait for you to hear it," the group wrote. "We know you've been really patient but hopefully you'll think it's worth the wait!!"

Group member Nathan Sykes added, "We worked really hard on this album to deliver a fresh but familiar sound!" while his group mate Tom Parker noted, "Been a long time coming!!"  And The Wanted's Jay McGuinness tells ABC News Radio that the disc will reflect the group's party-hearty philosophy, but will also go a bit deeper.

"We are a boy band, and as much as we fight against stereotypes, we do really want people just to have a good time and listen to your songs," Jay explains.  "So part of the album is just having fun, and not worrying too much about your own problems, and just being silly for a bit."

However, he adds, "The album will also reflect some personal pains that, y'know, [we] don't need to go into [right now]."

In addition, a brand-new single, "We Own the Night," is due August 11, and the group is shooting the video for it this week.  Let's hope that they like it better than their previous single, "Walks Like Rihanna," which Jay candidly admits the group really didn't like.

"When we first heard it we wet ourselves," he laughs, "Because it was like, 'This is far too cheesy. No, that can't happen.'"  He says they warmed up to it a bit when they put their own vocals on it, but he says they still didn't really like it, until super-producer Dr. Luke came along and put his magic touch on it.

Jay laughs, "When Dr. Luke got involved, we just felt like he really turned it around and made it, y'know, still really pop and really fun, but less, like, mind-numbingly painful!"

The group plans to announce a world tour very shortly.
