Lionel Richie Had Major '80s Flashback While Filming "Hello" Beer Commercial

ABC/Rick PowellLionel Richie's hilarious Australian TV ad for Tap King, an in-home draft beer dispenser, has been generating a lot of buzz online -- it features a guy opening his fridge, and seeing Lionel, sitting at a piano, singing, "Hello, is it me you're looking for?" while handing over a frosty pint.  But it turns out filming the video was a real '80s flashback for Lionel, and not just because he was singing that song.

The Sydney Morning Herald reports that while Lionel was filming the ad in Los Angeles earlier this year, the guy who was going to be Lionel's "hand double" arrived on the set...and it was Wayne Ward, one of the guys who'd co-starred in Lionel's original "Hello" video back in '84.

A beer company spokesman told the paper, "We had no idea of the connection. It was just a complete coincidence.  "Lionel did a double-take and remembered him straight away. They thought it was bizarre that the song had somehow paired them together again three decades later."

According to the paper, the beer company paid an estimated $1.5 million to get the rights to the song...and Lionel...for the ad.

Stevie Wonder to Perform in Morocco on Friday to Celebrate Treaty Benefiting Blind Readers

UN Photo/JC McIlwaineStevie Wonder has agreed to play a special concert in Marrakesh, Morocco, on Friday to celebrate the adoption on Thursday of an international treaty that will give blind and visually impaired people greater access Braille, large-print and audio books.  The Motown legend had strongly petitioned negotiators from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) to pass the agreement, and had promised to play a show in Marrakesh if it was ratified.

Before the treaty was adopted, Wonder taped a video plea imploring WIPO officials to approve it.

"This is a legacy, a gift to future generations," Stevie said in the video.  "So let's finalize a new agreement that opens doors to the world's written treasures and moves towards a future where there are no barriers to the expansion of knowledge and enjoyment of culture."

He added, "Let's get this signed, sealed, delivered, and I'm yours.  Do this and I will come to Marrakesh and we will celebrate together."

The concert reportedly will take place at 8 p.m. local time at Marrakesh's Palais des Congres, where the WIPO negotiations took place.

The legislation will help make it easier for publications geared toward blind and visually impaired people to be distributed across international borders by overcoming various copyright issues.

"With this treaty, the international community has demonstrated the capacity to tackle specific problems, and to agree a consensus solution," says WIPO Director General Francis Gurry. "It is a historic treaty that will lead to real benefits for the visually impaired."

Jay-Z Recruits Beyonce for "Magna Carta Holy Grail" Album

Johnny Nunez/WireImageHave you lost count with the amount of times Beyonce and Jay-Z have recorded together? Its okay, so have we.

Nevertheless, it looks like Mr. and Mrs. Carter are collaborating again, as Hov recently revealed that his wife will lend her vocal talents to the rapper's much-hyped album, Magna Carta Holy Grail

As part of his #NewRules social media campaign, the Roc Nation mogul has released the lyrics for a song called "Part II (On the Run)," which could be interpreted as a sequel to their hit single, "'03 Bonnie & Clyde" -- lifted from Jay's The Blueprint 2: The Gift & The Curse.

"I don’t care if you on the run/ Baby as long as I’m next to you/ And if loving you is a crime/ Tell me why do I bring out/ The best in you," Jay raps.

"They can take me/ Now that I found the places that you take me/ Without you I got nothing to lose," she sings on the hook.

As previously reported, Magna Carta Holy Grail has confirmed guest features from Justin Timberlake, Frank Ocean and Rick Ross -- who raps on "F**kWithMeYouKnowIGotIt."  The rapper's twelfth studio effort will also receive production from hitmakers including Swizz Beatz, Rick Rubin, Pharrell and Timbaland.  The set arrives on July 4.

Justin Timberlake's All Over "Inside Llewyn Davis" Soundtrack

CBS FilmsJustin Timberlake doesn't usually sing in his movies, but he does in the upcoming Coen Brothers' film Inside Llewyn Davis -- and you'll be able to hear him on the movie's soundtrack, too.

Inside Llewyn Davis is about the New York City folk music scene of the 1960s; Justin plays a musician named Jim Berkey in the film.  His wife is played by British actress Carey Mulligan, who in real life is married to Marcus Mumford of Mumford & Sons.  Marcus is on the soundtrack as well; in fact, he and Justin even sing together on one song, called "The Auld Triangle."

Justin also sings a couple of other tunes on the soundtrack, including the folk classic "500 Miles" and another tune called "Please Mr. Kennedy."

The soundtrack for Inside Llewyn Davis will be released on September 17, while the film is expected to arrive in theaters on December 6.

One Direction Gets New Ink in Maryland

Credit: TMZOne Direction's members are covered in tattoos, but apparently, there's always room for more.  Earlier this week, the boys, who are currently on a U.S. tour, stopped by a tattoo shop in Maryland to get inked.

A posting on Tattooed Heart Studio's Facebook page reads, "Guess who stopped by to get tattooed before they head out to Philadelphia today..." accompanied by a photo of Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik sitting in what looks like a waiting room.

According to TMZ, Louis and Zayn had specific concepts for their new ink: Zayn wanted the face of his girlfriend -- that's Perrie Edwards of Little Mix -- while Louis wanted a spiderweb design and a bomb.  Liam Payne, who was also there, didn't get any work done.  During the session, TMZ reports that the guys started jonesing for fried chicken, so they sent their bodyguard out to the local KFC to bring back a bucket for them.

Demi Lovato Launches Fund to Help People with Mental Illnesses

Credit: Rankin

Demi Lovato lost her father, Patrick, last weekend.  On Thursday's Good Morning America, the singer revealed that he, like herself, struggled with mental illness.  Now, she's doing something to help others struggling with similar mental health issues.

"I've dealt with mental illnesses, but my father also dealt with mental illness. And he wasn't able to function very well in society," Demi said. "And this week, I'm launching the Lovato Treatment Scholarship Program."

"I'm basically helping one person at a time. I'm going to pay for their treatment. I'm working with Cast Recovery, which is a treatment center that I've worked really really closely with," she continued.

Demi lost her father, who was 53, on June 23.  Though the two were not on speaking terms -- Patrick divorced Demi's mother, Dianna De La Garza -- Demi said her father was a good man.

"My father and I didn't have the most ideal relationship, but at the end of the day he's still my dad and I grew up with him," the 20-year-old said. "And he's a wonderful person."

Professionally, Demi returns as a judge on the upcoming third season of The X Factor, joining executive producer Simon Cowell and newcomers Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio.

"X Factor takes up so much of the year that it doesn't leave me any time to shoot a movie or anything like that," Demi admitted.

The X Factor returns to Fox on September 11.

"Same Love" Rapper Macklemore Cheers Supreme Court Rulings on DOMA & Proposition 8"Same Love," by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, is a gay rights anthem, so it's no surprise that Macklemore is happy about the Supreme Court decisions on Wednesday that overturned part of the federal Defense of Marriage Act and allowed same-sex marriage to become legal in California once again.

In a lengthy statement on his website, Macklemore, who was partially inspired to write "Same Love" because his uncle is gay, writes, "Today is a historic day for civil rights in America...This means that people like my uncles, who have been in a committed relationship for over 20 years, will now receive the same rights that my parents have."

He adds, "Personally, I feel reconnected to my American identity, and am proud of the progress we have made in recent years.  Today gives promise to the hope that we can and will change when our nation isn’t fair and just....It’s a victory...for all who devote their lives to fight for what is constitutionally and ethically right."

However, the rapper cautions that we still "have a long way to go," pointing out that there are still "37 states in our country that must shift legislation on same sex marriage before equality for same-sex couples is reached."  He also notes that "homophobia and intolerance continue to play a strong role in many households, schools, media and religious institutions in our country."

The rapper feels that without addressing those underlying problems, "America’s momentum towards justice will be stagnant and insincere."

He finishes by saying, "We, especially those of us whose rights are secure, are challenged to not sit passively in this crucial moment of cultural progress. True change lives in the minds and hearts of the people that make up our country, and must be cultivated, not mandated. We all have a part to play."

"Same Love" is on track to become Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' third hit, following "Thrift Shop" and "Can't Hold Us."

Jay-Z Teases News Song "Oceans"; Unleashes "Magna Carta Holy Grail" Promo Video Plus Tracklist new promotional videos have surfaced online for Jay-Z's highly-anticipated album, Magna Carta Holy Grail.

With less than a week to go, the rapper has a new piano-driven song that leaked, titled "Oceans," which features, appropriately, Frank Ocean. This marks the second time the artists have collaborated: they previously shared a track for 2011's Watch the Throne.

In the promo clip, Jay tells producer Rick Rubin, “It sounds like a celebration of where we are now on some big yacht, throwing champagne in the water.  But the undertow of the thing is that this is the same water that brought us here originally as slaves, so it has this old duality and how we are rewriting history.”

Earlier in the week, Hov revealed the lyrics to the Justin Timberlake-assisted "Holy Grail," while an Instagram user posted the official track list online after Jay-Z and his Roc Nation label conducted a special scavenger hunt across New York City to find it.

Also, if you download the Jay-Z Magna Carta app in Google Play, you could be one of the million Samsung Galaxy S III, Galaxy S 4 and Note II owners who'll receive a free copy of Magna Carta Holy Grail, 72 hours before the public can purchase the disc. Richards, meanwhile, notes, "It's almost as if you were, like, finally destined to play Glastonbury.  I mean, there were many years when we were offered it and turned it down, but I look upon it as a culmination of our British heritage, really.  It had to be done and it's gonna be done and we'll see what happens."

Madonna Cheers Supreme Court's Rulings: "Justice Is Served"

Stephen Lovekin/Getty ImagesIt's no surprise that Madonna applauds the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling on Wednesday that paves the way for same-sex marriages to resume in California.

Madonna, who is a longtime gay-rights advocate, writes on Facebook, "What a way to start my day!! I'm wearing a smile from ear to ear. There is a G-D! Justice is served. Hallelujah!!"

In late March, Madonna posted messages on her website and Facebook page calling for a "revolution" promoting marriage equality.  That same month at the GLAAD Media Awards, where she presented an award to Anderson Cooper, she was dressed as a Boy Scout as she denounced the Scouts' anti-gay policy. The Boy Scouts last month voted to end its ban on admitting gay members, though it won't permit gay leaders.
