(FOXBORO, Mass.) -- A judge delayed former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez's probable cause hearing on Wednesday, granting prosecutors more time to present evidence.
Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to murder in the death of Boston semi-professional football player Odin Lloyd, whose body was found near Hernandez's home.
Wednesday also marked the first time Patriots head coach Bill Belichick spoke to the media since Hernandez's arrest.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim. I extend my sympathy to everyone who’s been impacted," Belichick said.
"Having someone in your organization that’s involved in a murder investigation is a terrible thing," the coach added.
Belichick said the Patriots should be “a pillar in the community," and that he is "personally disappointed and hurt in a situation like this.”
