Chuck E. Cheese: Underage Gambling Hotspot?
Creatas/D. Anschutz/Thinkstock(SAN DIEGO) -- A popular pizza chain for kids is being sued by a parent who claims it's promoting gambling.
A San Diego mother has filed a potential class action lawsuit against Chuck E. Cheese claiming children are being exposed to illegal gambling. Denise Keller says the arcade games that dispense tickets, redeemable for prizes, have flashing lights, require little skill, and are essentially potentially addictive tot slot machines.
CEC Entertainment, the company that owns Chuck E. Cheese, says the games are not illegal under California law and is asking a federal judge to dismiss the case.
