Eastwood on RNC Invite: ‘If Somebody’s Dumb Enough to Ask Me…'

ABC/Donna Svennevik(NEW YORK) -- While promoting his new movie Trouble with the Curve, Clint Eastwood continues to field questions about his "invisible Obama" skit at the Republican National Convention. He tells TV's Extra, “I figure if somebody’s dumb enough to ask me to go to a political convention and say something, they’re gonna have to take what they get.”

The 82-year-old actor and director added, “People loved it or hated it, and that’s fine."

On whether the Dirty Harry actor has any regrets, Eastwood said he never looks back.

“It’s done and it’s done. I probably would [do it again], I wouldn’t be afraid of it,” he said.

Eastwood spoke with similar candor Monday on Good Morning America, saying, “There is something about the aging process that makes you give a crap less.”

“I just wanted to talk. And you go out there and everybody is screaming and yelling. It’s a bit overwhelming,” said Eastwood. “I’m not a politician running for office. I just had a little statement I wanted to make about politicians who work for us.”
