Jack Kevorkian Hospitalized for Pneumonia, Kidney Trouble

Michael Loccisano/Getty Images for HBO(ROYAL OAK, Mich.) – Jack Kevorkian, the notorious physician who spent several years in jail for helping people kill themselves, is being treated at a Detroit-area hospital for pneumonia and kidney trouble.

Kevorkian, 82, was admitted Thursday to the Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich., according to ABC News Detroit affiliate WXYZ.

Nicknamed "Dr. Death" for his role in a spat of doctor-assisted suicides, Kevorkian's latest treatment comes just more than a week after he was hospitalized with kidney trouble, then released.
