Louisiana Chemical Plant Explosion: One Dead, Dozens Injured

iStockphoto/Thinkstock(BATON ROUGE, La.) -- One person was killed and more than 70 were taken to area hospitals for treatment following an explosion and fire at a chemical plant southeast of Baton Rouge on Thursday.

All of the plant's workers have been accounted for.

It's not yet clear what caused the explosion.

There was no immediate evidence of air quality pollution or problems, authorities said, but more tests are being conducted out of an abundance of caution.
