(NEW ORLEANS) -- A New Orleans homicide detective put the police work on hold and took a break to get down with the local community at Mardis Gras.
According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, the dancing cop has a long history of breaking out moves in the city. Det. Winston Harbin, who told the paper he learned “The Wobble” for this year’s Mardi Gras celebrations, was stationed along a parade route on Saturday when he showed off his moves.
“I was raised in the 9th Ward and learned to dance at all the Halloween parties,” Harbin, 49, told the newspaper.
“I’m subject to the Wobble at any moment,” he said. “I was walking down the street yesterday on St. Charles Avenue and Napoleon, and the song was on. I asked my partner, ‘Should I Wobble?’”
She said yes.
“So I did. Everybody enjoyed it,” he told the paper.
