Several Injured After NYC-Bound Tour Bus Rear-Ends Truck

John Foxx/Stockbyte/Thinkstock(SLOATSBURG, N.Y.) -- In an all-too-familiar scene this year, yet another tour bus headed for New York City has crashed.

ABC News affiliate WABC-TV in New York reports the bus, which originated in Kingston, N.Y., was traveling along the New York State Thruway near Sloatsburg on Tuesday when it rear-ended a truck around 5:30 a.m.

The driver of the New York Trailways bus and several of the 17 passengers on board were transported to local hospitals to be treated for injuries, none of which are said to be life-threatening.  The remaining passengers boarded another Trailways bus bound for New York City.

The latest incident comes seven months after 15 people were killed on March 12 when a tour bus coming from a Connecticut gambling trip overturned on its way to Manhattan.  A few months later, in July, another tour bus headed for the Big Apple collided with a tractor-trailer on its drive down from Ontario, killing the truck driver and injuring 30 passengers.
