(BARRE, Vt.) -- About 40 baseball lovers started playing a game on Friday, and hope to quit sometime Sunday afternoon.
They are playing non-stop, hoping to make it into the Guinness Book of World Records. The existing record -- 48 hours, 9 minutes and 25 seconds -- was set by a group in St Louis in 2009.
The players will have to stay on the grounds of a Barre recreation field, day and night. Some have camped out so they can play through the rain.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Barre Town Recreation Department.
