(FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.) -- The wife of Miami Dolphins football player Brandon Marshall now faces criminal charges for allegedly stabbing her husband with a kitchen knife.
According to the arrest report by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, 27-year-old Michi Nogami-Marshall was arrested on Friday, accused of stabbing the star receiver in the abdomen with the knife. Officials say initially Marshall said that he slipped and fell onto a broken glass vase and injured himself, however, investigators said Nogami-Marshall later admitted to stabbing her husband, claiming that it was done in self-defense.
The 27-year-old Miami Doplhins player was taken to a hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.
Nogami-Marshall is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
