Deputy White House Press Secretary Bill Burton said President Obama is meeting with Rice to discuss a “wide range foreign policy issues,” during their private, closed-door meeting that is expected to last about 30 minutes.

Rice is in Washington D.C. celebrating the October 11th  release of her new memoir, Condoleezza Rice:  A Memoir of My Extraordinary, Ordinary Family and Me, which entails her journey starting in Birmingham, Ala. during the civil rights movement to her days at the White House as secretary of state.

In an interview with ABC News, Rice said her second of a two-series book collection is due next year and will focus on her political life.

Condoleezza Rice was Secretary of State under President George W. Bush and served as the second woman to hold this position, following Madeleine Albright.  She was also President Bush’s National Security Adviser during his first term.
