(BALTIMORE) -- Baltimore Police are questioning two individuals after an off-duty detective was killed this weekend in what police say began as a dispute over a parking space.
The argument escalated, police say, when one of the ‘people of interest’ allegedly hit 37-year-old Detective Brian Stevenson with a rock.
Detective Stevenson was transported to an area hospital, where he later died.
The altercation occurred Saturday at approximately 10 p.m. while Stevenson was out with a friend to celebrate his Sunday birthday.
The suspects fled the scene, but eyewitness accounts led police to the man and woman who were taken into custody overnight.
