(MONROE, Mich.) -- The ATF is offering a $10,000 reward for information about a Michigan car bombing Tuesday that injured a lawyer and his two young sons.
The lawyer was identified as Eric Chappel, an Ohio-based attorney, according to ABC affiliate WXYZ-TV. Chappel was driving his sons to football practice Tuesday evening when his Volvo exploded with enough force that the blast was heard a mile away.
Observers saw a fireball and the car was quickly reduced to charred and twisted steel. Chappel was injured on his right side and his sons, in critical condition, were taken to a hospital in Toledo, Ohio.
All three are expected to make a recovery.
The explosion took place Tuesday evening in Monroe, Michigan, a suburb 35 miles southwest of Detroit.
