(MIAMI) -- A new tropical storm has formed in the eastern Pacific Ocean. Tropical Storm Eugene is about 410 miles south of Acapulco, Mexico.
The storm could strengthen over the next three days, according to Todd Kimberlain, a forecaster with the National Hurricane Center in Miami.
"We think that if it becomes a hurricane, that it will remain well offshore Mexico, including Baja, California," he said.
The storm is currently churning in the Pacific with 40 mph winds.
