(JACKSONVILLE, Texas) -- The world's oldest living woman died in Texas on Monday at the age of 114, according to a local newspaper in Jacksonville.
Eunice Sanborn passed away peacefully in her sleep at 6 a.m., the Daily Progress reported, citing her caretaker, David French.
Sanborn was born in Louisiana on July 20, 1896, according to the Gerontology Research Group. She took over the title of the world's oldest living woman in November from Eugenie Blanchard, who died at the age of 114 on the French Caribbean island of St. Barts.
The Gerontology Research Group's website now shows 114-year-old Besse Cooper of Georgia as the current world's oldest living woman.
