He is expected to remain in the hospital for a few days, according to his wife.

Lasorda, 84, was in New York to represent the Dodgers at baseball’s amateur draft. Lasorda was videotaped Sunday at a media event at an Italian restaurant in Brooklyn, according to TMZ. reporter Joey Nowak tweeted, “I was at an event with Tommy Lasorda yesterday in NYC, and people said he wasn’t feeling well. Suffered heart attack.”

Hundreds of fans sent their prayers and support for Lasorda via Twitter.
