(FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.) -- The Broward County Courthouse in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., was evacuated Friday when a man entered the building through an exit with a gun and threatened to shoot himself.
Police say Marin Stroia, 59, was upset over his divorce and demanded to speak to a judge.
“He just put the gun right in his mouth and he looked like he was about to blow his head off,” said Kalvin Wright, who was inside the courthouse.
Judge Joel Lazarus said the suspect claimed he had just one bullet in the gun.
“I don’t want that bullet in me,” Lazarus told the gunman.
Stroia eventually gave up the gun and got to speak to Judge Lazarus before being taken into custody.
