(HUTCHINSON, Kan.) -- While gluttony and gridiron glory will be on full display in the land of the free on Super Bowl Sunday, even a select imprisoned few will be allowed a small bit of edible elbow room.
A Kansas prison will be receiving $11,000 worth of pizza and wings that inmates ordered for the NFL's championship game, according to a report in the Kansas City Star.
The newspaper says that inmates from the Hutchinson Correctional Center who had demonstrated good behavior were allowed to order food with money from their own personal accounts. The order accounts for 942 large pizzas which cost $8 each, and 9,630 boneless wings.
The Star reports the prison is charging inmates $11 for each pizza, and putting the difference toward a planned religious center to be affiliated with the correctional facility.
