Seven School Buses Heading to Six Flags Involved in Crash 

iStockphoto/Thinkstock(NEWTON COUNTY, Ga.) -- Seven school buses that were headed to Six Flags crashed in Newton County, Georgia, leaving at least 43 people injured.

The accident occurred on westbound I-20 at mile post 97. Over 200 students from Burke County Middle School in Waynesboro were aboard the buses. One of the bus drivers, 44-year-old Angela Anthony, was air lifted with serious injuries to an Atlanta hospital, according to ABC affiliate WSB-TV. Officials said 50 other people are being checked for injuries at local hospitals.

Buses were sent to the scene from Morgan County to transport children who were not hurt.

Two Dead, 10 Injured in Indianapolis School Bus Crash

File photo. iStockphoto/Thinkstock(INDIANAPOLIS) -- A school bus carrying approximately 50 students between the ages of 5 to 16 crashed into a bridge in Indianapolis on Monday morning, killing the driver and a 5-year-old girl on board.

The driver was identified as 60-year-old Thomas Spencer II, of Indianapolis; the 5-year-old was identified as Donasty Smith, ABC News Indianapolis affiliate WRTV reported. Ten others were injured in the crash, two of them critically.

The area received light rain Monday morning, but it wasn’t immediately clear if road conditions played a role in the crash. “Witnesses told firefighters and police that nothing unusual occurred prior to the bus hitting the abutment,” Indianapolis fire Capt. Rita Burris said, according to WRTV.

"Tragic day in Indy,” Mayor Greg Ballard tweeted. “Concerned for families of crash victims and injured children involved in terrible bus accident on south side."

39 Injured in Washington State School Bus Accident

FIle photo. iStockphoto/Thinkstock(QUINCY, Wash.) -- At least 39 students were injured when their school bus rolled over in a crash near Quincy, Wash., around 8:20 a.m. Monday.

Three students were seriously injured, while others sustained bumps, bruises and bloody noses. The driver was not injured, according to ABC News affiliate KXLY.

Officials say the bus veered off the road before rolling and coming to a stop. Only one vehicle was involved in the crash, authorities said.

KXLY reports that authorities have ruled out alcohol, drugs and weather as factors in the crash.

The bus driver is expected to be interviewed by state police.

One Dead in Mississippi School Bus Accident

George Doyle/Stockbyte(BOLIVAR COUNTY, Miss.) -- One student is dead and at least 10 others were injured in a crash involving a school bus and a tractor trailer in a rural part of Mississippi on Friday. It was not clear if the injured were all students.

Mississippi Department of Public Safety spokesman Jon Kalahar said both vehicles flipped and landed on their sides.

The accident happened in the early morning hours Friday at a highway intersection in southern Bolivar County.

The bus belonged to the Shaw, Miss., school district. It was reportedly carrying students ranging from kindergarten through high school.
