Teen Charged with Shooting Three Students Near Pittsburgh School

Pittsburgh Bureau of Police(PITTSBURGH) -- A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in connection to a shooting near a Pittsburgh high school Wednesday afternoon that left three students wounded.

Anjohnito Willet was charged Wednesday with four counts each of Criminal Attempt Homicide, Aggravated Assault and Recklessly Endangering Another Person, and one count of Minor not to Posses a Firearm, Pittsburgh police said in a statement.

He allegedly opened fired near Brashear High School just before 3 p.m., shooting two male students in the head and another male student in the elbow and foot, according to police.  All three victims, who have yet to be identified, were transported to nearby hospitals and are expected to live.

The motive behind the shooting appears to be retaliation. According to police, Willet was the victim of an assault that occurred inside the high school on Oct. 18. The three male students who were injured Wednesday were reportedly involved in that attack.

Pittsburgh School Board officials say Willet has not attended classes since the incident, which is believed to have been driven by robbery and was drug-related.

Willet has been charged as an adult and is being held at Allegheny County Jail.
