Tropical Storm Dorian Getting Stronger, May Threaten East Coast

NOAA/National Weather Service(NEW YORK) -- Tropical Storm Dorian is building up strength and is about a week away from hitting the United States, with most models predicting it will head towards the southeast coast.

The storm currently has maximum sustained wind speeds of 60 MPH, with occasional higher gusts. It is forecast to move east towards Puerto Rico by Monday, and from there pick up strength as it heads towards the American southeast.

Some models have the center of the storm moving further north later next week, coming close to the Northeast and Long Island.

These forecasts are not a sure thing, but in any case, Dorian is worth keeping an eye on as it makes its way towards land.
