(FORT CARSON, Colo.) -- A lightning strike Wednesday at Fort Carson in Colorado injured 12 Army soldiers, one critically.
Maj. Earl Brown, an Army spokesman, says sirens had alerted the soldiers that lightning was in the vicinity, and they were in the process of moving out of an open field to a sheltered area when they were struck.
One solider is listed in critical condition at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs. The other 11 are in stable condition.
