(VENICE BEACH, Calif.) -- One person was killed and 11 are injured after an alleged hit and run on the Venice Beach Boardwalk Saturday.
The Los Angeles Police Department said the suspect, 38-year-old Nathan Campbell, allegedly mowed down pedestrians on the boardwalk. Witnesses say the suspect seemed to be intentionally driving into the crowd, KABC reports.
Ten victims were taken to local hospitals. Two people with minor injuries declined to be transported, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The coroner's office reports that the woman killed on the boardwalk has been identified as Alice Gruppioni, 32, of Italy. According to the LAPD, Gruppioni was on her honeymoon.
The LAPD says Campbell turned himself in about two hours after the attack. He has been booked for investigation of murder.
