Admitted New England Crime Boss Pleads Guilty to Racketeering

(PROVIDENCE, R.I.) -- Crime boss Anthony Dinunzio has plead guilty to extorting money from adult entertainment businesses in Rhode Island.

Dinunzio, 53, pled guilty to one count of conspiracy to participate in a racketeering enterprise, as part of a plea agreement.

"Today, Anthony Dinunzio admitted to serving as a leader of the New England La Cosa Nostra, a criminal organization that, while under his control, extorted business owners throughout Rhode Island," Assistant Attorney General Breuer said in a statement Thursday.

Dinunzio is scheduled to be sentenced on November 14 and faces up to 20 years in prison.
