Fire Damages East Providence Elderly Complex

(EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I.) -- A housing complex for the elderly in East Providence was damaged by fire Thursday morning.

The fire was reported shortly before 9 a.m. at the City View Manor, located at 99 Goldsmith Avenue. Fire crews responded and were able to contain the blaze to an apartment on the 10th floor.

There were no reports of injury and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
