Mass. Part of Initiative to Reduce Unemployment Among Young People

(BOSTON) -- Massachusetts is one of six states set to participate in a new initiative aimed at helping young people find jobs.

The multi-year initiative titled, Pathways to Prosperity Network, seeks to address the issue of unemployment among individuals who possess high school or college diplomas. Officials said the effort will combine academics with technical education to provide individuals with the necessary skills to succeed in the labor market.

The other five states involved include Tennessee, Maine, Illinois, Missouri and North Carolina.
