Massachusetts' Unemplyment Situation Improves

(BOSTON) -- While unemployment on a national level climbed between April and May, the unemployment situation in Massachusetts actually improved for the same period, according to the state's Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development.

A report released by the executive office on Thursday stated that in May, Massachusetts added 7,500 jobs, leading to the state's unemployment rate dropping to 6.0 percent in May, from 6.3 percent in April.

The national unemployment rate went from 8.1 percent in April to 8.2 percent in May.
