Police: Former URI Basketball Player Shot in Connecticut

(HAMDEN, Conn.) -- Former University of Rhode Island basketball player Keith Cothran was reportedly shot in Connecticut on Wednesday night.

The shooting reportedly occurred before 10:30 p.m., with police being called to the scene on Arch Street in Hamden. Officials said the former URI guard was shot multiple times as he sat in a car in an empty parking lot, according to the New Haven Register.

The newspaper reports that Cothran's condition was unknown since he was not listed at any of the New Haven hospitals.
