Police Investigate Shooting Behind Pawtucket Fire Station

(PAWTUCKET, R.I.) -- Police are investigating a shooting that occurred behind a Pawtucket fire station early Friday morning, in which one person was injured.

The shooting reportedly happened around 3 a.m. at the rear of the fire station on Smithfield Avenue near Grotto Avenue. Police were called to the scene where they found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.

The victim was taken to Rhode Island Hospital in unknown condition.

There were no immediate arrests.
