Rare Bear Sighting in Cape Cod

(WEST BARNSTABLE, Mass.) -- The Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife says a bear that was spotted in Cape Cod over the weekend probably swam across the canal, according to a report on SouthCoastToday.com.

The Division of Fisheries and Wildlife says that it is only the second bear sighting in Southeastern Massachusetts in the last 50 years.  The bear is thought to be the same one that broke into chicken coops in Middleboro in April, according to the report.

A representative for the Division of Fisheries and Wildlife believes that the bear is about two years old and could have been separated from its mother.
