Suspect Charged in New Bedford Homicide

(NEW BEDFORD, Mass.) -- Police have arrested a 38-year-old man in connection with a fatal shooting in New Bedford last Friday.

Ryan Gamboa has been charged with assault with intent to kill, as part of the investigation into the death of Julio Barbosa, 31.

Barbnosa was shot and killed on the 1000 block of Cover Road, according to SouthCoastToday.com.

Gamboa is accused of threatening the victim with a knife, the website reports, but has not been charged with the murder.
